Niall Brooks is the Managing Director and founder of Castlegate and heads up the fund administration and director services side of the company. Niall has been involved for over 14 years in the offshore fund’s industry. He is the former head of Bank of Butterfield International (Cayman) Ltd.’s (“Butterfield’s”) Mutual Fund Department and a former executive member of the Cayman Islands Funds Administration Association. He joined Butterfield’s in August 1994 and held the position of Department Head from January 1998 to March 2002. During this period he supervised the growth of Butterfield’s Mutual Fund Department from its infancy to a position as one of Cayman’s leading providers of mutual fund, hedge fund and pension fund administration services.

Niall has a wealth of experience and knowledge of the offshore fund services industry, having been involved in all aspects of the structuring, launch, supervision, compliance, provision of directorships and ongoing administration, to a wide variety of offshore fund vehicles. Since leaving Butterfield’s in March 2002, Niall has been engaged in providing organizational and business development consultancy work for fund service providers, together with the provision of offshore fund directorships. In 2004 he formed Castlegate and in 2005 established the company in the BVI with a view to providing a dedicated fund administration and independent offshore directorship service to offshore fund vehicles.

Niall has been a frequent attendee at Industry related Conferences, an occasional speaker and has been frequently quoted in Industry related trade magazines.

Niall is a qualified chartered accountant by profession and prior to joining Butterfield served with Coopers & Lybrand in the Cayman Islands for two years and Nottingham, England for four years. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales and holds a Bachelor of Science Honours Degree from Loughborough University, England. Mr. Brooks is a British Citizen.
