Roger Dawes is a Director of Castlegate Investment Services Limited and also the Managing Director of Horizon Corporate Consultants Limited, a licensed company management company in the British Virgin Islands. Over the past more than thirty years, he has successfully held senior management positions in trust companies, banks and insurance companies based in British Virgin Islands, Hong Kong and the Bahamas. During his career, Roger has held positions approved by the BVI Financial Services Commission and the Hong Kong banking regulators.
Roger was instrumental in pioneering the initial British Virgin Islands’ International Business Company legislation and served on the Financial Secretary’s Advisory Committee for the crucial five years when the British Virgin Islands became the premier provider of International Business Companies. He was involved in drafting the Territory’s banks and trust companies legislation, its insurance laws and the amendments to its International Business Companies Act. He was the inaugural Chairman of the BVI Association of Registered Agents, the financial service providers’ association in Tortola. He has also acted as Secretary of that Association.
Roger is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, a member of the Society of Trust & Estate Practitioners and an Associate of the Compliance Institute. He has written several articles on the BVI’s financial services industry and presented papers to various international organizations such as the International Tax Planning Association. On occasion, he has lectured students of The University of the Virgin Islands on the development and nature of BVI’s offshore industry.
